Absyrtus, [Greek .] (Greek & Roman Mythology). A brother of Medea, and her companion in her flight from Colchis. Finding that she was nearly overtaken by her father, she killed Absyrtus, and cut his body into pieces, which she scattered along the way, that her father might thus be detained by gathering up the remains of his murdered son.
