In an account of Jeanne de Laval, second wife of René, of Anjou, the celebrated artist-prince, rival of Alphonse I. of Naples, occurs a note of payment, "à Adenot, enlumineur demourant à Angiers pour ung ymaige et plusieurs lettres quil a faictes en nostre liure nommé le Mirouer des dames, pour lesquelles choses faire avons fait faire pris auecques lui a la somme de v escuz dor vallent vi.l.xvii. s. vi. d." The account is dated February, 1457.
