Ægisthus. [Greek 






.] (Greek & Roman Mythology.) A son of Thyestes, and the paramour of Clytemnestra, whose husband, Agamemnon, he treacherously murdured at a repast. He was subsequently killed by Orestes, a son of Agamemnon, who thus avenged his father's death. See THYESTES.
