Abbott, Lyman. Born in Massachusetts in 1835. Son of Jacob Abbott, supra. A Congregational minister of broad views, who as editor of The Outlook and successor to H. W. Beecher as pastor of Plymouth Church, Brooklyn, has exercised a wide influence.
